TV mounting in the Grand Rapids area
Mounted level, anchored into studs, with the cables hidden in the wall.
What usually goes wrong
- No stud where you want the TV to go
- A brick, tile or plaster wall
- Cables you don't want hanging down the wall
- Wanting it above the fireplace
- A mount you already bought and aren't sure about
How we do it
-
Find the studs and check the mount
We confirm the wall can take it and that the mount is rated for your TV size and weight before anything gets drilled.
-
Agree the height while it's still on the floor
Most people mount TVs too high. We'll hold it up so you can look at it from where you actually sit.
-
Route the cables properly
In-wall cable routing uses rated kit designed for it. Running an ordinary power cable inside a wall is a code violation and a fire risk.
-
Level it and tidy up
Mounted level, cables dressed, and the mess cleaned up. We take the packaging with us if you want.
Questions worth asking
- Can you mount above the fireplace?
- Often, but it's worth a conversation first. Heat shortens a TV's life, and the viewing angle is higher than most people find comfortable. We'll tell you what we see rather than just drilling.
- Can you hide the cables?
- Yes — either in the wall using a proper rated kit, or in a surface channel that gets painted to match if the wall construction makes in-wall routing a bad idea.
- Do you supply the mount?
- You can supply it or we can. If you already bought one, send us the model and TV size and we'll check it's right before we come out.
What it costs
Every job is priced on its own. Text or email a photo of what you're looking at and we can usually give you a number without coming out — for bigger jobs we'll come and see it properly first.
You get the price before we start, not after.
